Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LCMHCA
I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2025 with my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my professional practice, I have worked with clients ranging from 3 to 65 years old. I completed my undergraduate studies at Campbell University in 2010 with a BS in Kinesiology.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina (# A22098. I am supervised by Erik Potter of Potter Counseling & Consulting.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and existential in nature. Although I draw on theoretical orientations such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I believe the art of counseling is a collaborative process. I tailor my sessions to what best works for the client and their needs. I proudly serve the LGBTQ+ community and provide gender affirming care.
Most of my experience is working with adults and couples, but I've also greatly enjoyed working with teens. I offer evidence-based therapy focused on identifying and changing problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief & loss, major life changes, self-esteem, or relationship issues are encouraged to reach out. I place special emphasis on creating meaning in one’s life, and I firmly believe we should always be aware of, and moving toward, what we want.
